Tap To Pay payments powered by HitPay allows HitPay merchants to accept contactless transactions using supported NFC powered mobile devices.

Android Device Compatibility
Tap To Pay payments require Android mobile devices that meet the following criteria, otherwise reader discovery or the connection will fail:
- Contains a functioning NFC antenna and chipset.
- Is not rooted, and the device bootloader is locked and unchanged.
- Is running Android 11 or above.
- Uses Google Mobile Services and has the Google Play Store app installed
- Has stable connection to the internet

- iPhone XS or later
- Running iOS 15.5 or later
Steps to Set Up
To set up Tap To Pay, follow these steps:
- Ensure you have a supported Android device with the necessary specifications or an iPhone running iOS 15.5 or later.
- Download and install the HitPay app from your device’s app store.
- Launch the HitPay app and log in to your HitPay account.
- Ensure that NFC is enabled on your Android device if applicable.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
- Once set up is complete, you can start accepting contactless payments with Tap To Pay.
Steps to Accept a Payment
To accept a payment with Tap To Pay, follow these steps:
- Open the HitPay app on your device.
- Enter the transaction amount on the app’s home screen.
- Choose “Tap to Pay” as the payment method.
- Wait for the customer to tap their contactless payment card or device on your device’s NFC area.
- The payment will be processed, and a confirmation will be displayed on the app.
- The transaction is complete, and you can provide a receipt to the customer if needed.
