HitPay Terminal is EMV-enabled to help protect you against payments from fraudulent and counterfeit cards. When you use HitPay Terminal, the bank is liable for any fraudulent type disputes filed.
Merchants who use chip-capable terminals to accept payment cards are not liable for any fraudulent type disputes filed.
All HitPay Terminal readers are chip-capable.
Disputes for reasons other than "fraudulent" are not covered by the EMV liability shift. You are still liable for other dispute types.
Encryption and Tokenisation
HitPay Terminal encrypts sensitive card information the moment it is presented to the card reader. The reader sends sensitive data to HitPay via end-to-end encryption and tokenizes the card data.
